Speaker: Dr. Sandra Hirsh is Associate Dean of Academics in the College of Information, Data and Society and Special Advisor to the Provost on AI Curricular Initiatives at San José State University (SJSU). She previously served as professor and director of the SJSU School of Information and worked at HP Labs, Microsoft, and LinkedIn. She is a past president of the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) and the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T). She is Chair-Elect of the International Relations Round Table in the American Library Association. She co-founded and co-chairs the global virtual Library 2.0 conference series. Her textbook Information Services Today: An Introduction, 3rd Edition, is used in many LIS programs. Her latest book about the future of libraries, Library 2035: Imagining the Next Generation of Libraries, was published by Rowman & Littlefield in March 2024.  She holds a bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. from UCLA and an MLIS degree from the University of Michigan. 

主讲人简介：Sandra Hirsh 博士，现为圣何塞州立大学（San José State University，简称 SJSU）信息、数据与社会学院主管学术事务的副院长，同时担任教务长人工智能课程计划的特别顾问。她曾任SJSU信息学院的教授兼院长，并曾在惠普实验室（HP Labs）、微软（Microsoft）和领英（LinkedIn）工作。她曾担任图书馆与信息科学教育协会（ALISE）以及信息科学与技术协会（ASIS&T）主席，现任美国图书馆协会国际关系圆桌会议（International Relations Round Table）候任主席。她是全球虚拟“图书馆2.0”会议系列的联合创始人兼联合主席。她编写的教材《今日信息服务导论》（第三版）被广泛用于图书馆学与信息科学（LIS）专业课程中。她的图书馆未来发展的最新著作《图书馆2035：构想下一代图书馆》，已于2024年3月由Rowman & Littlefield出版社出版。她获得加州大学洛杉矶分校（UCLA）的学士学位和博士学位，以及密歇根大学的图书馆学与信息学硕士学位（MLIS）。

Abstract: As we look ahead to 2035, libraries are poised to undergo a profound transformation driven by emerging technologies, evolving societal needs, and reimagined community roles. “Library 2035: Imagining the Next Generation of Libraries and the Transformative Changes Ahead” explores these shifts through the lens of Sandy Hirsh’s compelling book Library 2035: Imagining the Next Generation of Libraries, offering a thought-provoking glimpse into the future. This presentation will highlight the significant forces reshaping the library landscape—from artificial intelligence and immersive technologies to the evolution of physical and digital spaces and the growing emphasis on DEI and civic engagement. In addition to examining these transformative trends, the session will spotlight the core competencies and forward-thinking skillsets essential for library professionals navigating this future.
