CALA & Other Chapters

Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA)

Our headquarter, CALA, started on March 31, 1973. The Chinese name is 华人图书馆员协会. CALA is a registered nonprofit organization with 501(c)3 tax-exempt status.

Midwest Chapter (MW)

MW was built in 1976. The chapter covers 13 states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota & Wisconsin.

Northeast Chapter (NE)

The chapter covers 8 states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island & Vermont.

Northern California Chapter (NCA)

NCA was built in 2006. The chapter covers the Northern part of California, including north of San Luis Obisbo/Bakersfield.

Southern California Chapter (SCA)

SCA was built in 2006. The chapter covers the Southern part of California, including the south of San Luis Obispo/Bakersfield.

Southeast Chapter (SE)

SE was built in 2007. The chapter covers Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina & Tennessee.

Southwest Chapter (SW)

SW was built in 1979. The chapter covers Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas & Utah.

Canadian Chapter (CAN)

CAN aims to promote librarianship and library services in Canada with a specific focus on enhancing communication among Chinese Canadian librarians.

All Other U.S. States (OUS)

The chapter covers Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington (State) & Wyoming.
